As my pictures indicate, I am in the well-seasoned portion of my life. I grew up in Southern California; I am a Vietnam era Air Force veteran. I have had earlier careers as a public school teacher, as a cop, and as a small business owner. I came to be a California attorney later in life as I longed for something more intellectually stimulating when I saw my brain was holding up well but my aging knees and back made my earlier, more adventuresome pursuits less possible. Personally, as you can see, my interests are much more varied that just practicing law. But it is from those interests and prior experience that I enjoy my work in law so much. Whether you are in need of a California Trust Attorney, assistance with California Divorce Law, or perhaps are seeking a California Employment Attorney – my diverse experience will benefit you.

I met my wife while teaching some 38 years ago. We promptly bought a 28 foot sailboat and went off sailing together down the coast of Mexico and Central America, through the Panama Canal to the Caribbean, then back through the Canal and west to the Galapagos Islands, then to the Marquesas, Tuamotus and Society Islands in French Polynesia. We returned home 6 years later and settled down and had three children. Moorea, our oldest daughter, teaches high school in Tucson; Gillian, our youngest daughter, is a research assistant helping with the restoration of James and Dolly Madison’s Montpellier estate near Orange, Virginia. Patrick, our middle child and son, spent two years in Tanzania, East Africa, in the Peace Corps after college. He now is a logistician for Doctors Without Borders at a remote hospital site in Southern Sudan.
My wife Robin teaches English as a second language at a local adult school. We enjoy traveling together and visiting our far-flung children. We often sail together with friends on voyages to the various Channel Islands, and I enjoy racing our boat both with crew and sometimes singlehanded in longer voyages offshore.

Continued from home page…Earlier in my law career, I was managing partner of a 4 attorney law firm. I found I didn’t like worrying about whether other attorneys were properly taking care of my clients. So now, I practice alone and develop good relationships with a few good clients at a time. I also found in law, as in sailing, I like variety in my voyages, so I no longer specialize in one form of law. Instead, I see myself as a general practitioner and I take on a wide variety of cases: from
